API Information

This page provides API descriptions and directions for obtaining access to the External Test environment where all technical specifications are available.

Definitions

  • SDK: Software Development Kit. Information designed to assist external users with Globus family of brands APIs.
  • API: An abbreviation of Application Program Interface, a set of routines, protocols, and tools for building Web sites and software applications. An API makes it easier to develop a program by providing all the building blocks. A programmer puts the blocks together.
  • Brand: Refers to Globus, Cosmos and Avalon Waterways. Please see brand definitions below for more information.
  • Media: Refers to all the content about each vacation offering, including overview, day-by-day itinerary, included features, highlights and accommodations.
  • Season: The season refers to the year. The format is a four digit year (for example, 2009).

Brand Definitions

Several of our vacations are available through different brands. Here is an overview of what you will get with each brand:

  • Globus: Selecting vacations from the Globus brand will retrieve all vacations for Globus and Avalon Waterways.
  • Cosmos: Using the Cosmos brand will retrieve only Cosmos vacations.
  • Avalon: Using the Avalon Waterways brand will retrieve Avalon Waterways cruises.

Registration and SDK Use

All users of Globus family of brands APIs must first register for access to the External Test Environment. Registration will include intended use, volume projections, contact information and other data. Once registration is approved, users will be provided with an ID and Password to use for log in to the External Test Environment. After sufficient testing, users will be certified for use of the Production Environment.

Certification for Production Access

Users of the Booking API must perform successful testing of their connection and creation of bookings according to the procedure below. Globus family of brands must review results prior to awarding Certification and providing access to the Production environment.

Terms and Conditions for SDK Use

Globus family of brands reserves the right to deny access or restrict existing access to any customer.

Registration Form

If you agree to the Terms and Conditions and wish to request access to the External Test Environment, fill out the Registration Form and submit it to Globus family of brands. When access is approved, you will be provided with a Login ID and Password to log in to the External Test Environment.
